

Belva Jean Simpkins, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on April 30, 2026, at the age of 73. Belva was born in Marshall, Michigan on January 30, 1953, to Alva and Leona March. She married her husband of 38 years, Roy Harold Simpkins, on February 27, 1970.
Throughout her life, Belva brought steady dedication to all she did, including her many years of work as assistant manager for Bake a Teria. Away from work, she found joy in simple pleasures—bingo nights, collecting angels, and tending to her gardening, plants, and the growing things she cared for with patience and pride. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, holding close the moments that mattered most.
Belva is survived by her children, Leona Radziewicz, Roy (Nicole) Simpkins Jr., and Charles Simpkins II; grandchildren Cortney (Ryan) Gale, Cody Radziewicz, Dustin Simpkins, Andrew Simpkins, Luz Brito, Olivia Simpkins, and Charles Simpkins; step-grandchildren Cedric Santana and Ayana Santan; great-grandchildren Parker Gale, Jordyn Simpkins, and Atticus Green; siblings Tim Davenport, Ronnie March, and Alvie March; and her dog, Precious.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Simpkins Sr.; siblings Mary Ross, Shirley Miller, and Robert March; and her nephew, Simon March.
A celebration of Belva's Life will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 1:00PM at Burden-Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home ( 1806 East Michigan Ave., Jackson Michigan) family will receive friends and family for visitation on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM and 12:00PM until time of service. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Roy at Roseland Memorial Gardens.
