Of Jackson, MI passed away at the age of 68, on May 14, 2015 with family at her side. BettyLou was born on December 18, 1946 to Orville and Martha Owens in Lacky, KY. BettyLou married the love of her life Clyde Shepherd on Aug. 15, 1978 in Jackson, MI. She was a home maker loved taking care of her family, an avid photographer, watching T.V., loved crossword puzzles, collected angels, an animal lover. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Clyde, her children, Darlene Prater, Vicky (Keith) Dunigan, Eddie Shepherd, Tommy Prater, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, siblings, Orban Owens, Willie Owens Sr., several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, 5 siblings, grandson, Richie Powell. Cremation has been chosen, a celebration of BettyLou’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 1:00pm at the funeral home, with visitation from 12:00pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Cascades Humane Society.
