

Of Jackson, MI passed away on October 4, 2022 at the age of 79. Byron was born to parents George and Ruth Cyphers in Kalamazoo, MI on April 4,1943. He was married to Mary Ann Cyphers for 58 years. Byron was a member of the Union Tabernacle Church in Jackson. He also worked as a press operator for Manchester Stamping. Prior to that, he performed janitorial services for B & M in Anchorage, AK. Byron was proud to be an American, serving our country in the military from June 23, 1963 until June 30, 1983. He served two tours in Nuremberg, Germany, two tours in Vietnam and he is a recipient of the purple heart as well as two tours in Anchorage, AK. Byron is survived by his wife Mary Ann Cyphers, his four children Mary Kathleen, Julie Elizabeth (Pete), Reanee Ruth (Jeffrey), and David Thomas (Carmen); thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth Cyphers. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Burden and Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 11:00 AM until time of service. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
