Of Jackson, MI passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 16, 2020 under the loving care of his family and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice, at the age of 84. Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and son, Glenn; his parents; brothers, Charles and William also sister-in-law, Thelma. He is survived by his son, John Waller and daughter, Jeanna Roderick, four grandchildren, Laura Buchholz, Lynelle Shong, Carl S. Waller and Russell Shong as well as eight great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carol Waller; nieces, nephews and cousins and close friend, Art Whitehead. Carl was born to Charles and Eva (Cavins) Waller in DuQuinn, Illinois on July 17, 1935. He married Betty on June 28, 1958 and they raised a family in Jackson. Carl owned and operated his own business, Waller Machine Company for many years and was proud to have made parts for the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs. He enjoyed hiking and camping and was very active in the Boy Scouts of America. He was instrumental in the development of the Aquatics camp at Camp Teetonkah. He also earned the Boy Scout Silver Beaver award. Carl was a gifted wood carver and enjoyed making beautiful Carvings for his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many fishing expeditions with his son John. Carl will be remembered as a devoted husband and loving father and Papa who will be greatly missed by his family. Carl was laid to rest next to his wife at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Thursday, March 19, 2020.
