You Mom was probably my best friend all during school.  She was in my wedding and I always thought a lot of her.  Her birthday was close to mine too.  We sort of lost touch these last few years after I moved away but I often think of her.  I was shocked and sorry to her about her passing.  My heart goes out to your family.  The patriarch of the family is always hard to lose and never can be replaced by anyone else.  May our God who is faithful be your comfort and somehow fill the void Cathy leaves in many lives.

To the family of Cathy Clark Wyckoff:
It is with sadness that I learned of the passing of Cathy.  She and I were first cousins and grew up together.  We saw each other on holidays and often I got to spend a week in the summer in Jackson at her parents house.  My mother was Iris Wallace-Pace, Cathy's mom, Theda and Iris were sisters.  As often happens with time, I had not seen Cathy in some time, after I married & moved to another state, WA. Many happy memories of times at the Clark's house.  Cathy & I making stilts....we used all of Uncle Earl's masking tape;  going fishing and swimming on hot summer days. I will remember our times together, filled with laughter and fun.  My sincere condolences to Cathy's family. May she rest in peace and her love for her family see them through this difficult time.

I am very sorry to have missed the viewing and funeral so that I may have said this to the family in person, but I didn't know Cathy for very long.  We had worked together for a year or two and only in passing at times.  Cathy was always very cheery and had a light hearted attitude that was contagious.  I remember the times working the late nights at the outpatient center and going up to the registration desk to see if one of our patients was going to show up, and while we waited I sat with Cathy and just talked about whatever.  I am greatful that I had those conversations with her.  It always felt like I was talking to my mom, because you could tell she really cared about what I was saying.  She acted as if we were all her children, caring deeply for all of us.  It's sad to think I won't see her walk through the door again.  But I am greatful to have known her!

To Cathy's Family:
Found out today of Cathy's passing. She's been in my prayers , on and off, in recent years and in my husband and my prayers daily in recent months because of her sufferings.  
   Cathy and I were consecrated as Daughters of St. Francis De Sales in Sept. 2009 during our weekend retreat. I was sorry to hear of her having to struggle with cancer... in more ways than one.
   For your family..... I'm wondering if you know what a commitment it was to be consecrated. It wasn't just a one day thing. The preparation for it involved study, prayer, reflection and in some cases... transformation over a two year period. Sometimes this period runs longer than two years depending on the busyness of a lay person's life. 
   The consecration is the first day of the spring board for the rest of our life. It's a promise to live the Gospel according to the teachings of St. Francis De sales and it's a promise to share the Gospel with others.
   Once a Consecrated Daughter.... Always a Daughter or as now we're called An Associate. Because of your mom's busyness or illness she may not have been able to do things like attend mass regularly or have regular prayer time but it's still important to have our hearts in the right place. Cathy, even in the hustle bustle of things continually tried to search for her God and how to best serve Him. In the end..... that's what really mattered. Right?
   Cathy, May God and all the saints in heaven welcome you with hugging arms!!!!   ............ for all eternity!

Each time the wind rattles my front door I look, thinking it will be you and your dog coming to hang out a while. Will I ever be able to  go on without your love and loyalty, and your prayerful optimism even when I was totally stupid. I love you and miss you so much.

We will have to include Gramma Clark in most of these fun chats.  She was such a big part of our times together.  Give her a hug for me and save me a seat at the dinner table.
