

Of Jackson, MI passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2015 at the age of 83. Chuck was born on July 9, 1931 in Marshall, MI to George and Merriam Adler. Chuck married the love of his life, Doris (Hobley) Adler in September 1953. They were married for 60 years and Doris preceded him in death in 2013. Chuck was a long time member of Christ Episcopal Church of Pleasant Lake, where he served as a Deacon. Chuck was a scoutmaster for Troop #328 and he enjoyed hiking; he served his country in the Army Reserves and the 1461st Transportation National Guard for 37 years. Chuck was a member of the Kiwanis Club, serving as Lt. Governor; he was also a member of the Jackson Jaycees. Chuck worked for the Department of Labor for 17 years and was recently employed at Rose City Professional Building. Chuck enjoyed everything military, Scouting, camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Chuck is survived by his children, Tom Adler, Mike (Elaine) Adler, Dennis (Kelly) Adler, Terri (Don) Madden, and Connie (Bryan) Sayles; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sister, Cindy Bernia; and furry friend, Tommy the cat. A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 11:00 am with Reverend Susan Vandercook officiating. Visitation on Monday, January 26 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00pm and again Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Woodland Cemetery.
