

of Jackson, MI. passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the age of 63. He was born in Jackson, MI. at Foote Memorial Hospital to Charles and Shirley Bacon on January 8, 1962. Charles is survived by his mother, Shirley Bacon; brothers Arthur Bacon, Wayne (Cheire) Bacon, Lamar Rice, Michael Bacon; sister Michelle (Jeremiah) Bacon-Kerns; children Jamaal, Anthony, Lamar, Kyonna (Zach) and Kathryn (his butterfly); his beloved grandchildren Jamiah, Jessiah, Javon, Julius and Justyce (his muffin); Best friend Daniel Mahoney, friend for life Jennifer Hunter; oldest niece Tamire his birthday twin, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by sisters, Eve Shackelford and Brenda Bacon-Page; step-mom Janet Bacon; mother in law Eileen Hunter. Charles, a basketball legend, graduated from Parkside High School in 1980; where he fostered many friendships that lasted throughout his life time. He continued his education at JCC and LCC to receive his associates degree. Charles worked numerous jobs; his longest time was spent at Jag. He went into Real Estate for Edward Sourvell, and then continued his career with Coldwell Banker. Charles enjoyed spectating on all sports. Especially the Spartans (GO GREEN GO WHITE), Tigers, and Lions. He enjoyed making people laugh and spending time with his whole family, especially his cousins. Charles will be missed by all who knew him. A visitation for Charles will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Burden & Patience-Montgomery, 1806 E. Michigan Ave., Jackson, Michigan. A family hour will occur Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Church of God, 140 W. South St., Jackson, Michigan. A home going service will occur Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Church of God, 140 W. South St., Jackson, Michigan.
