Charles Robert Micallef

Charles "Chuck" Robert Micallef, age 87, of Jerome, Michigan, passed away on April 24, 2026. Born on October 5, 1938, Charles lived a full life defined by hard work, family devotion, and a sharp, sarcastic sense of humor. He spent many years as a truck driver for Hudson’s department store, delivering furniture throughout the region. He took great pride in his work, made many lifetime friends during his time there, and loved recounting his road stories—tales of difficult deliveries, interesting customers, and life behind the wheel. Family members heard these stories many times over; they could be lengthy and occasionally repetitive, but they were always told with his trademark wit and charm.

Charles was a devoted son , brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend. Charles found his greatest joy in his family and in the simple moments spent together. Charles shared over 60 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Geraldine raising 5 boys together. Their long union was built on loyalty, laughter, and enduring commitment.

He is survived by his sons: Charles Micallef Jr., Dale Micallef, Darryl Micallef (Lorelei), Craig Micallef (Julia), and Joe Micallef (Holly); his brother; Tony Micallef; his grandchildren, Amanda, Angela, Devin (Brittany), Stephanie, Darryl Jr. (Lauren), Kyle, Dylan, Mariah, Kara, Madison and Makenna; 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory. Charles will be remembered as a dedicated provider who worked hard for his family, a gifted storyteller, and a father whose sarcastic humor and funny one-liners kept conversations lively and entertaining at every gathering.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geraldine, his infant daughter, Julia; his parents, Julia and Joseph Micallef; his sister Louise "Toots" Cebulski; his brother Frank Micallef (Florence); and his brother Joseph Micallef (Imogene).

Visitation will be held at Burden-Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home, (1806 E Michigan Ave, Jackson, MI 49202). May 8, 2026 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm with services at 12:00 pm.
