Cheryl Lee Spencer

Of Jackson Michigan, passed away at the age of 77. After a fulfilling life as a loving mother, wife, sister and friend to many on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 36 years, Robert Spencer; three daughters, Aleta (William) Damm, Laura (Nelson) Ashbrook, and Heather (Matthew) Papp, grandchildren; Ashley (Brett) Peterson, Blake Peterson, Rachel Peterson, Johnathon Damm, Sarah (Alex) Damm and Matthew Papp; step-children, Greg Spencer, Kim (David) Spencer and Steve (Kneli) Spencer; step-grandchildren, Elorian (Matt) Landro, Shea Spencer, Sierra Childers and Josh Levandowski; brother, Dixon (Sally) Smith and sister, Aleta (Tom) Hendrick. She was born in Jackson, Michigan on August 24, 1945 to Rex and Wanda Smith, whom have preceded her in death. After graduating from Napoleon High School she attended Jackson Community College. Cheryl was a retiree of Jackson Public Schools and worked as a parent volunteer, Paraprofessional, and Secretary. Cheryl’s family meant everything to her, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling. Especially spending vacation time at her time-share near the ocean and exploring the West Coast from Mexico to the Redwoods. She could often be heard yelling Go Blue or Touchdown in the fall as she loved Michigan football. She appreciated many forms of music which led to her meeting her husband Bob where she chaperoned frequent band trips and attended countless performances and musicals. Her kind, loving spirit and bright smile will be missed but will live on through our memories. We would like to thank Dr. Aaron Vanwagnen and the nurses at Henry Ford Hospice for the excellent care they gave Cheryl.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church (1505 W. Michigan Ave., Jackson, MI 49202). Family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the Church.
