Clark Lanny Carpenter

Carpenter, Clark "Lanny" Of Jackson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 79. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Carpenter; three children, Steve (Sue), Kristy (Rod) and Julie; granddaughters, Nicole (Chad), Kasilyn (Jason) and Brittnee (Duane); nine great grandchildren; brother-in-law Dan (Debbie) as well as many loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom and sister-in-law, Jeanine. Lanny was born to Carl and Aileen (Kelley) Carpenter in Jackson on January 25, 1939. He was a long time member of the Teamster Union and retired after driving truck for 30 years. Lanny enjoyed riding his motorcycle, boating, Drag Racing and going to Florida with his wife during the winter, but most of all he loved his family. He was a hard working family man. He touched the hearts and lives of many and will be greatly missed. The family would like to acknowledge the staff of Great Lakes Caring Hospice, Michigan Medicine and Henry Ford Allegiance Health for their kind and compassionate care. According to Lanny's wishes cremation has been chosen and a Celebration of his life will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lanny's memory may be made to St. John Catholic Church or Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
