Age 63, lived in Horton and Concord, Michigan. Connie's pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She was a very devoted wife. She took her role as a big/little sister to heart. She loved her family and friends and she loved to spend time with them all. Connie enjoyed flowers, playing bingo and lotto, jigsaw puzzles, Peeps, search words, spoiling her grandchildren, and watching Days Of Our Lives and Golden Girls. She liked to collect bicentennial quarters, solar dancers and whole wheat pennies. Her favorite animals were birds, cats (even though she would never admit it), and cocker spaniels. Connie loved to talk on the phone, we never went a day without a phone call or five. It brought her a lot of joy to give/send cards to everyone on holidays and special occasions, especially their birthdays. Family traditions meant a lot to Connie. She made sure to have a family day together every year for the county fair and the Hot Air Jubilee. She made sure that we spent every holiday together. We thank the Lord for all of these precious memories. Connie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mildred and John Shoemaker. Her sister Olive Shoemaker and her brothers Richard and George Shoemaker. And her other beloved family members. Her pets Jericho, Kody, Polly, and Snuggles. Connie is survived by her husband of 26 years, Darrell Swetland. Her daughters Angie and Krissy Peterson. Her grandson Jay Mann. Her granddaughter Annie/Yuki Mann. Her grandcats Sunrise and Jypsie. Her brothers Mike and Henry Shoemaker. Her sisters Claudia (Darrel) Hunt and Jeannie Edwards. Her father-in-law Melvin Swetland. Her brother-in-laws Doug (Suzann) and David (Terri) Swetland.
