Darlene Mae Johnson

Of Jackson, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the age of 64. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Johnson; brother, James DeWitt and niece, Gloria DeWitt. She will be remembered by her two daughters, Teresa Griffin and Arlene Cowans; three grandchildren, Mylia, Malik, Antonio and Kayden; four siblings, Mary Kontos, Gloria DeWitt, Ethel Huggins and Saline Buckner and many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Darlene was born in Jackson on December 5, 1956 to James and Caroline (Johnston) DeWitt. She was a kind, loving and generous woman and touched the hearts of many. She and her special friend/caregiver, Ernie Cole enjoyed sharing their hospitality at their home for any occasion that would allow them to feed their friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends for visitation at Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (406 First St. Jackson, 49201) on Thursday, March 18, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service officiated by Minister Eian Wright at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Where she will be laid to rest between her husband and mother.
