Darlene Mary Sprague

Of Jackson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the age of 83. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Thomas Sprague; two sisters, Sophie Reitnauer and Katie St. Martin; four brothers, Albert, John, Frank and Tony Smith; granddaughter-in-law, Whitney Lockwood. Darlene will be remembered by her children, Rita (Ben) Lockwood, Diane Sprague, Cindy (Jim) Chrisman, Shelly Sprague, Thomas Sprague, (TANK) and Connie (George) Husak; grandchildren, Loucious, Cody (Audra), Zachary and Travis Lockwood, Benjamin Hill, Marissa (Dalton) Barrett, Kaitlin Chrisman, Trenton (Annaleise) Sprague, Jesy (Mickey) Carothers, Lindsy (Keith) Roberts and Sami Husak; great grandchildren, Logan and Alayah Lockwood; Kylah, Addalyna and Asher Barrett, Lincoln and Oakland Sprague, Domanic Kahn, Emmary and Katelee Carothers and Jaxson Roberts; sisters, Barbara (Jas) Soltis and Hattie (Jim) Murphy as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Darlene was born in Jackson, Michigan on August 8, 1939 to Leroy and Sophia (Samulak) Smith and is a 1957 Graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She married Tom Sprague on August 16, 1962 and together they raised their family. She retired from I.T.T. HANCOCK after nearly 40 years of service. She loved to travel, vacationing in Florida, spending time with her grandchildren, playing softball and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. She touched the hearts and lives of many and will be greatly missed. According to her wishes, cremation has been chosen and the family will Celebrate her life on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. at Forty Nine South (2527 Helena Ave. Jackson, MI 49203)
