Darryl Morris, affectionately known as "Chub" or "Cowboy" by his family and close friends was born on June 6, 1956 to Marvin Morris (deceased) and Louise Morris in Detroit, MI. He was the second child born to the union of five and the only son.
Darryl attended Detroit Public Schools where he received his high school diploma from Northwestern High School. He was a hard worker and took on any job to support his family. Of all his jobs, he was most proud of his position with Wonder Bread Bakery Company in Detroit, MI. He worked there until they closed their doors in 1985. In later years, he would move to Jackson, MI where he worked for 14 years at Synchronous Manufacturing until they closed in 2008. He then decided to start his own lawn-care business, which he fondly named 'Love and Blessings Landscaping'. This was a name he created to show what he does, but more importantly, who he is and what he believes.
Darryl was truly one of a kind with a style all his own. His style of fashion was like no other. His nickname, 'Cowboy' comes from his fashion sense. He wore cowboy hats, boots and spurs. Sometimes he would add a little flare to his hat ... a piece of fur or a feather. You always knew who he was when you walked into a room ... and you never forgot him once you met him. Darryl had a sweet disposition and ALWAYS had a kind word no matter what the situation. If you told him 'no', he would say "GOD bless you"; if you did him wrong, he would say, "GOD bless you". He knew the Lord and he loved the Lord and everyone that knew him loved him. Darryl was an active member of the Bethesda Church of God in Christ (1500 Merriman Jackson, MI,) Pastor Tony Lyons, where a homegoing service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. Family hour to begin at 10:30.
On June 27, 2016, God looked down and said my child you have suffered enough and called him home. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving sons, Darryl (Boo) Morris, Shanty (Tito) Morris; his mother, Louise Morris; his siblings Debra Hartman (Melvin), Darlene Morris, Delvia Williams (Earvin) and Tressa Marshall (Charles); and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles/aunts, family and friends. He will truly be missed.
