Age 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2019. Dave is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Sally Dexter Urbaniak, his parents, his brother Tom Urbaniak, and many brother and sister in-laws. He is survived by his son, Matthew Urbaniak; grandson, Cameron Harris; daughter, Bethany (John) McCune; grandsons, Ethan and Alden Scheib; and best friend of 70 years, Jim Curran. Dave was born to Joseph and Ethel Urbaniak on May 5, 1944. He graduated from East Jackson High School in 1962 and married Sally in 1964. Together they built and operated Sal’s Fifth Ave, Caribbean Connection Oasis, Automatic Microfilm, and Automatic Imaging where Dave worked daily until just recently. Dave devoted his life to family, work, and to helping people. Whether it was being Santa for more than 50 years, giving people a first job or career, or fixing a problem that required the use of a John Deere implement, Dave was a giver and the ultimate romantic. Dave was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, 4250 Page Ave, Michigan Center, MI, 49254, where a celebration of his life will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the Church for visitation from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service. Dave will be laid to rest next to Sally at Roseland Memorial Gardens, 3744 Brooklyn Rd, Jackson, immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to support the food pantry at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1505 W. Michigan Ave, Jackson, MI 49202.
