Diane Carol Knightley

Of Jackson, MI passed away on January 21, 2025 at the age of 85. She was born in Chicago, IL on May 24, 1939 to parents Hilding and Alvina Sylvander. Diane worked for Chelsea Community Hospital for more than 20 years and was a very active member of the Vandercook Lake Lions Club. She also was a member of Brookside Methodist Church. Diane was a city girl who was carted off to rural Michigan to raise a brood of boys. She was an excellent mother, who wore her heart on her sleeve. She was strongly opinionated and quick to intervene and help during tragic or emergent situations. Diane is survived by her children Jeff (Madonna) Teachout, Eric Teachout, Ron (Mary) Teachout, Dan (Veronica) Teachout, Gary Teachout, and Brian (Kim) Teachout; grandchildren Ginger (Steve) Paeschke, Ryan Teachout, Shelby Teachout, Seth (Boni) Teachout, Jasmine (Stephen) Wilson, Lilly (Nick) Mistopoulos, Olivia Teachout, Victoria Teachout, Mackenzie Hunt, Ryan (Erin) Hunt, and Mitchell (Jennifer) Teachout; great grandchildren Stephen Wilson, Caleb Teachout, Cassian Teachout, Hannah Morse, Killian (Nathan) Fischer, Brooke Morse, Abigale Teachout, and Gabe Paeschke; and a great grandchild on the way from Nick and Lilly and siblings Donna (James) Feazel, Darlene Bomar, Don (Barb) Sylvander, and Debbie Garris. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Richard Knightley and Leo Teachout, brother-in-law John Bomar, and daughter-in-law Susan Teachout. A celebration of Diane’s life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Burden Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 East Michigan Avenue, Jackson, Michigan) at 3:00 PM with visitation from 1:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Henry Ford Hospice House (2150 Kingsbrooke Dr., Jackson, MI 49202).
