

Of Jackson, passed away at her home, January 21, 2025 age 86. Dixie Tripp was a woman of deep love, wisdom, and unwavering generosity. She touched countless lives with her straightforward advice, compassion, and encouragement to always "do the right thing." Her influence spanned across generations, from guiding younger family members to caring for those older than her. Dixie’s home was always open, with a pot of coffee brewing for late-night chats and heartfelt conversations. Her honesty and care made everyone who sought her guidance a better person. She will be missed by all who knew her, but her lessons and love will continue to shape those she leaves behind. Dixie is preceded in death by her parents, Cordelia Nicholas and Glenus Cox; her siblings, Johnny Cox and Patty Gerry; her husband, Clarence "Jake" Tripp; and children, Clarence Eugene Tripp, Tammy Adele Jarels, grandchildren Joshua Ross Quillen, Janie Marie Jarels and great granddaughter Elyse Michele Robinson. She is survived by her Children, Cordelia Jo Ann Burkholder, Patty Lee Lewis Smith, Glen Daniel Tripp, Lisa Marie Quillen, and Alan Wade Workman; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Her many nieces, nephews, and friends will cherish her memory, especially the "chats over a cup of coffee" that meant so much to all who were lucky enough to know her. A celebration of Dixie’s life will be held at the Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Ave. Jackson, MI. 49202) Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Burial Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, Friday 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Cancer Society.
