

Born in Jackson, Michigan to John L. and Helen I. DuBois, Donald grew up with deep-rooted values of service, perseverance, and kindness. He graduated from Jackson High School and went on to earn his degree from Western Michigan University. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He spent his career in the Steel Business as a warehouse manager.
Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Doris E. DuBois, in 2002, and his son, Kevin M. DuBois in 2016. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Mary H. (Daniel) Maye of Fort Jennings, Ohio, and his son Donald L. (Elizabeth) DuBois Jr. of Ann Arbor, Michigan. He leaves behind grandchildren Amanda, Jeffrey, and Logan and great-grandchildren Quinn and Graham, who will forever cherish his steady presence, warm humor, and stories that spanned generations.
An avid bowler and golfer well into his later years, he had his first “hole in one” in March of 2005 at 77 years young. Donald found joy in friendly competition and good company. He was a proud Michigan Wolverine fan and enjoyed attending games.
Family will receive friends and family at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Ave. Jackson, MI 49202) on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a Celebration of Life service at 3:00 pm. Donald will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park with his wife and son at a later date.
