Doug was an accomplished woodworker, but his true passion in life was his music. Doug was the original drummer for the band Flyte that was started in the 1980’s with his cousin JD Boone. Doug was known for his solos and flare on stage. Doug later left the band and moved to Florida where he began writing and composing songs. He later returned to Michigan and pursued his other passion of making guitars. Doug could take anything and make something wonderful with it.
Doug is to be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery where a private ceremony will be held for family only. A Celebration of Life is planned for the summer of 2021, date and time to be determined.
