Of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on May 25, 2026, at the age of 87. Edna was born in Adrian, Michigan, on May 6, 1939, to Arthur and Nora Jepson. She married her husband, Gerald Barker, on September 15, 1973. Edna lived a long, productive, and fulfilling life, devoted to home and family, and she took deep pride in raising two remarkable daughters whom she loved dearly.
Edna’s steady presence and quiet joys were found in the simple pleasures that filled her days—reading, all things Elvis, puzzles, watching old westerns, word search puzzles, and the companionship of her cats. She was dearly loved by her three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and her care and devotion will be remembered with lasting gratitude.
Edna is survived by her children Ann (Gathern) Monhollen and Jennifer (Chuck) Barker-Kirchner; grandchildren Gregory Stone, Joshua Lehman, and Lilah Kirchner; great-grandchildren Cameron Stone, Malaki Stone, Alysha Wampler, Melody Stone, and Ella Lehman; and sister Rodna Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gerald Barker.
Cremation has been chosen. A celebration of Edna’s life will be scheduled at a later date. She will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery next to her husband.
