Of Jackson MI, passed away on March 8, 2023 at the age 78. Elaine was born on March 25, 1944 to Joseph Selonke and Jeanette “Nettie” Agnes McFarland in Jackson, MI. Elaine enjoyed reading, going for walks and being with her mom “Nettie”. Elaine is survived by her children Robert Grinnell, Tina Reed, John (Julie) Jeffreys, and Jacquelyn (Bob) Unis; grandchildren Krystal Hill-Banks and Albert Hill-Banks; Hunter (Sydney) Jeffreys and Nicklas Jeffreys and great grandchildren Brandon Hunt, Mag’Gina Jackson, Are’Jon Thomas, and Ja’ziya Taylor. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Selonke and Nettie Leathead (McFarland), husband Larry Smith, and sister Janet Laurence. Cremation has been chosen. She will be laid to rest near her husband Larry Smith at Woodland Cemetery.
