Emma Jean Kingston (Stevens) of Jackson, MI went to be with the lord on Monday, December 6, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Alice Stevens; brothers, Junior and Kenneth of Bandana, KY; Sister Betty Meriwether of La Center, KY and grandson Danny G. Kingston, Jr. Emma is survived by her husband of 72 years Jesse; sons, Billy C (Sally) of Clarklake, MI, Danny G (Sue) of Covington, IN, Jess L (Lisa) of Ceresco, MI and daughter Tammy L (David) Shaughnessy of Jackson, MI; grandchildren, Billy Kingston, Cary Kingston, Jamie Kingston, Brian Kingston, Adam Kingston, Lindsey Kingston, Aaron Shaughnessy and Angela Shaughnessy; great-grandchildren, Lillith Kingston, Noah Kingston, Clayton James Kingston, Eli Petsel, Knox Petsel, Jacob Kingston, Brycen Kingston, Sean Kingston, Emma Mae Shaughnessy, Adalynn Shaughnessy and Olivia Shaughnessy. Emma was strong in her faith and was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church where she attended until her health declined. She will be missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in Emma’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family will receive family and friends for visitation on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Ave., Jackson, MI 49202) from 4PM-8PM. Services will follow on Friday, December 10, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (711 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Jackson, MI 49201) with visitation starting at 11AM and services following at 12PM. Emma will be laid to eternal rest at Roseland Memorial Gardens. Per the family’s request masks are required when attending services.
