Of Munith, Michigan, passed away with family at his side. Ernest was born on November 26, 1953 to parents Clayton and Katie Tackett in Shelby Gap, Kentucky. He married Rhonda in Jackson, Michigan in 2005. Ernest worked as a Journeyman Welder for General Motors for 32 years. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none. He lived life by his own terms. He served our country during the Vietnam Conflict. Ernest is survived by his wife of 13 years, Rhonda Tackett; his children: Clayton Tackett, Amber (Bob) Tackett-Weimer, Traves (Melissa) Tackett, and Codey Tackett; several grandchildren and one great grandchild; nephew, Steven (Robin) Tackett; step-children, Stephanie Rosecrants, Leura (Eric) Smith, and David Rosecrants; many nieces and nephews; best friend, Joseph Laier, and dog, Charlie. He was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Tackett and grandson, Abraham Tackett. Cremation has been chosen; a celebration of Ernest’s life will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 3:00pm at Chas J. Burden & Son Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Ave) with visitation from 2:00pm until time of service, with Military Honors. He will be laid to rest at Roseland Memorial Gardens. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a cancer charity of your choice.
