

Eugene Forest Cochran, age 80, of Munith, Michigan was promoted to glory peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 1, 1942 in Washington, DC to his parents Forest and Caroline (Stephens). Eugene served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1962-1966. After his tour of duty Eugene married the love of his life Ruth Ann (Borton) Welker on February 20, 1976. A true hard worker, he retired in 2001 after 34 years of working for Ford Motor Company. He never met a stranger anywhere he went and his sense of humor was contagious. Eugene enjoyed working with his hands and had a knack for woodworking. A man strong in his faith he loved attending church and spending time with his family. He had a love for his family that was unmatched. Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Ruth Ann Cochran; children, Deborah Cochran, Michael Welker, Christine (Kenneth) Lawley, Robert (Marguerite) Cochran and Robert (Margie) Welker; grandchildren, Michelle (Josh) Rolston, Kaitlynn Lawley, Jonathan Lawley, Vanessia Lawley, Jessica Holbrook and Billie Welker Holbrook; great-grandchildren, Elianna, Joshua, Kailey, Alyssa, Jaden and Makayla Rolston, Hazel Holbrook and Jayce Tomaski; one brother and a host of many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Margie Ivan. Eugene will be missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held for Eugene at a later date with more details to follow.
