Evelyn R. Barrett

Passed away on Friday, April 16, 2010 at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eugene Barrett; and three brothers. She is survived by her children, Patricia (Charles) Kelly, Catherine (Jim) McAllister, and Timothy (Patti) Barrett; stepdaughter, Dr. Elizabeth Ann Barrett; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Matilda Dargy, Alice Lucier, and Mildred Lowden. Evelyn was born to Charles and Mary (Lisko) Sturek in Omaha, NE. She resided in Illinois and Texas for most of her adult life. Evelyn was a homemaker, bookkeeper, secretary, and bailiff. She enjoyed bowling, card games, scrabble, crossword puzzles, and doing home renovations. She had a strong faith in the Lord and was a devout Catholic. A Christian Funeral Mass is scheduled at St. John Catholic Church on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Bob Pienta officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. A Rosary Service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio, TX. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Country Meadows Adult Foster Care, 3775 Wolf Lake Rd., Grass Lake, MI 49254.
