Of Jackson, passed away at the age of 93 while under the kind and compassionate care of Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice and her family on Friday, November 30, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Casimir Best after 34 years and Robert Alexander after 31 years. She will be remembered by her daughter, Bonnie (Neal) Carlson; grandchildren, Stephen (Jessica) Rutz, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Rutz, and Christen Rutz; great grandchildren, Nathanael Rutz, Zachariah Rutz, Kylee (Tyler) Sauceda, Kayden Rutz, and Jena Rutz; stepchildren, Robert (Lori) Alexander, Jr., Jenise Moschner, and Renee Kidd; step grandchildren, Breon Alexander and Justin Kennedy. Fleecie was born in Bankston, Alabama on February 16, 1925; one of seven children born to Dave and Ludie Smith. She came to Michigan alone as a young woman to find employment. She began working as a seamstress and continued to do so for the rest of her life. If she didn’t make it, she would bake it. She enjoyed sharing her home cooking with neighbors, friends, and her church family. Fleecie always wanted to make more friends. She had a strong faith in the Lord and was always willing to help others when she was able. She touched the hearts and lives of many. She will be greatly missed. A service honoring her life will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest next to Mr. Best at Roseland Memorial Gardens.
