Of Jackson, MI passed away on July 31, 2020 after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis and later cancer at the age of 66. He was born in Jackson on April 5, 1954 to parents William and Marie King. Floyd was a very loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his wife of 46 years, his two daughters, as well as three grandsons. Floyd had a talent for being able to fix anything and worked in maintenance for many years at Arbor North Retirement Center where he was a favorite of the residents, later working at Chelsea Hospital and Jackson County ISD. Floyd is survived by his wife Terri; daughters Katie (Eric) McMichael and Kelly Marvin (Jason Stephens); grandsons Kegan and Aidan McMichael and Hunter Davis; siblings Beverly Mitchell, Kaye Blakeman, Doris (David) Balch, Pauline (Henry) Friend, Chuck Kelly; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Penny King; and siblings David King, Robert Ryan, Shirley McDermott, Danny Moore and Marilyn Balch. Per Floyd's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. The family would like to thank Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice, especially Missy and Dr. Lake for their exceptional care and compassion.
