George M. Corbett Jr.

Of Jackson, passed away December 10, 2012 at Allegiance Health, age 77. He was born in Jackson November 29, 1935 to George and Edith (Goddard) Corbett Sr. They preceded him in death. Survived by his wife of 38 years, Carol; one sister, Mary (Doug) Kelly of California; children, Debbie (Dave) Clevenger, Sherrie (Eric) Johnson, Lisa Matzella, Richard Werner Jr. and Shayna (Matt) Hanes; eleven grandchildren, Derik (Nechelle) Johnson, Segnid (Beau) Hendricks, Kelcey Clevenger, Casandra Matzella, Tiffany Matzella, Jasmine Crobett, Alex Tompkins, Jessica Hanes, Zachary Hanes, Jakob Werner and Jim Werner; four great-grandchildren and two on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. George was blessed with a great sense of humor. A passion of his, when meeting people, he wanted to know all about them. He loved family gatherings and enjoyed outdoor activities. He was always very active building and remodeling. He graduated from East Jackson High in 1954. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. Burial Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation Saturday 10:00 A.M. until service time. The family of George, would like to thank St. Joseph Hospital, Allegiance Health, CareLink, Jackson Medical Care, Countryside and Faith Haven for the kindness and care given to George the last four months.
