Gerald Lee Hammontree

Of Marshall, Michigan passed away on June 12, 2026, at the age of 70. Gerald was born in Evanston, Illinois on March 31, 1956, to parents Gerald D. and Shirley M. (Draeger) Hammontree. Gerald was married to his wife Teresa D. (Head) Hammontree for 36 years. Gerald served in the Army from 1974 - 1978, being stationed in Germany and was honored as an expert marksman of the M-16. He then worked for MACI, retiring in 2019. Gerald loved spending time with family. He also loved animals and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, and fishing as well as woodworking and reading. Gerald is survived by his wife Teresa Hammontree; daughter Christy Hammontree; stepchildren Lonnie Head and Leslie Davis; grandchildren Renea Vasquez, Nikki (Vasquez) Tramel, Megan Vasquez, Jesse Rose, Matthew Rose, Alexandra Peltier, and David Peltier; and great grandchildren Ayla Vasquez, Iris Beavers, Waylon Hand, and Oakland Hand. He is preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Shirley Hammontree and daughter Brandi L. (Hammontree) Nutter. Per his wishes, cremation has been chosen. A celebration of Gerald's life will be held at a later date.
