Gerald "Jerry" Kelley, 70, of Jackson, MI passed away at University of Michigan Hospital on Saturday, January 18, 2025 following complications from heart surgery. He was born in Madison, WI, the son of Robert and Lois (Taylor) Kelley on June 27, 1954. He married Brenda Lafountain on November 8, 1991, enjoying 33 years of marriage together. Jerry worked 49 years as a semi truck driver for TLC and Sercombe Trucking. An avid NASCAR and football fan, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, with his family, and beloved dogs Sadie and Patches. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Kelley; four children, Karen Kelley, Kimberly Kelley, Crystal Prater, and Brandon (Jenna) Prater; six grandchildren, Kasandra Harris-Kelley, Myla Kelley-Beeavers, Kamden Kelley, Sofia Snitchler, Avery Prater, and Everett Prater, and great grandchildren, Oliver Kelley-Blanks and Ophelia May; a sister, Stacie Adams of Portage, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Steve and Don Kelley.
A celebration of life will be held this spring, details forthcoming.
