Of Jackson, MI passed away on April 12, 2017 at the age of 81. Jerry was born on June 2, 1935 to parents Gaylord Phillips and Norma Hicks. He married Darleen Phillips on October 11, 1966. Jerry was a maintenance supervisor for Jackson College. He was a hunter, trapper, fisherman, and he served our country during the Berlin Crisis, as well as being a member of the NRA, Moose Lodge and Pheasants Forever. Jerry is survived by his wife, Darleen; children Donna (Joe) Gettings, Tim Phillips, Jeff (Richelle) McFate, and Tammy Sanford; siblings Marcia (Tom) Odem, and Ann Phillips (sister-in-law) Grandchildren Todd Pickell; Chris Miller, DeLaney, Danten, Dade and Daevin McFate, and Nathan and Jacob Sanford; and special friend Casey Bisbee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Wendell Phillips. Per his wishes, cremation has been chosen with a private family and friend gathering. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to charity of one’s choice.
