October 1, 2024, peacefully at his home in Spring Arbor, Michigan. Rick, born in 1936, joined the Air Force after graduation from a one room schoolhouse in Todd, Pennsylvania. He then worked as an aircraft mechanic at Eastern Airlines in New York. That is where Rick met Kathleen, his wife of 59 years. Rick and Kathleen spent many years raising a family while living in Osseo, Michigan, and growing a successful business as owners of Livonia Tool, Inc., in Litchfield, Michigan, where Rick enjoyed supporting the local community.
Rick, always the generous soul, never failed to have a bag of candy, ice cream, or a beer to share. His warmth and kindness will be dearly missed. Rick is survived by his wife, Kathleen; two children, Michael and Stephanie; four grandchildren, Eric, Julia, Meredith, and Jessica; and two sisters, Dorris and Lois.
Rick’s life will be celebrated on November 1, 2024, 1-3pm at Olivia’s Restaurant in Jonesville, Michigan. Instead of flowers, we kindly ask you to honor Rick's memory by donating to Meals on Wheels, a charity that was close to his heart and where he dedicated his time.
