Of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2012 at the age of 66. Duane was born on March 10, 1945 in Jackson, Michigan. He loved his family and friends and will be missed by all. Duane served our country and was very proud of it. He is survived by his significant other, Marsha Day, his children, Michael (Kim) Smith, Brian (Virginia) Smith, Adam Smith, Jenny Smith, seven grandchildren; siblings, Richard, Bob, Nancy (Ron), great aunt Virginia Smith, and friend Tom. Per his wishes cremation has taken place. He will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the family for final expenses.
