Jack LaVerne Brouard

Of Jackson, passed away April 22, 2011 at Allegiance Hospital. He was born November 10, 1923 to Nicholas and Mary (Burchett) Brouard in Doster, MI. Jack is survived by Delores, his wife of 57 years; daughters, Laura (Steve) McLean and Julie (Jeffry) Schneider; grandsons, Jordan and Jesse Schneider, and their fiancees, Melissa and Alexis; sister, Eleanor Houvener and many beloved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Brouard; sisters, Dorthea Lindsey Nooney, Mary Arlene Dewey, Velma Kurtz, and twin infants. Jack graduated from Plainwell High School and attended Michigan State College prior to enlistment in the USMC where he served for 28 months in the South Pacific in World War II. He joined the Michigan State Police in 1946, and retired as Post Commander of the Jackson Post in 1973. He was later employed and retired from Consumers Power Company. A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 30, 2011 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 925 Backus St. The family will receive family and friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jack's memory may be sent to the American Lung Association.
