Of Vandercook, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the age of 94. She is survived by her son, Kelly Powell; granddaughter, Kimberly (Doug) Perrine; grandson, Jason (Susan) Powell; great grandchildren, Jacob Marriott, Lexi, Peyton and Addie Powell; great-great grandchild, Aiden Marriott; sisters, Carol Curry of Pigeon Forge, TN and Joann Sprague of Sarasota, FL; special niece and nephew, Deb (Roger) Bradley and Rick (Sara) Gumper; as well as several nieces and nephews whom she adored; special person who she considered her daughter, Bonnie Mierzwa. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Al Gumper and brother, Jerry Burke. Jean was born to Ira and Edna (Dunning) Burke in Homer, Michigan on December 27, 1925. She enjoyed shopping, planting flowers and working in her yard, taking trips up north and down south to Tennessee and her cat, Roo, but mostly she enjoyed and loved her family more than anything. She was witty and had lots of sass. She was a true firecracker, but had the biggest heart and was always willing to help anyone when she was able to. She will be truly missed by all of us. According to her wishes, cremation has been chosen and there will be no services.
