Jesse was born to Fred and Loretta (Smith) Everett in Jackson, Michigan on April 11, 1923. After graduating from Jackson High School, he served in the United States Army during WWII. When he returned to Jackson, he began a career as an electrician for Cochran Electric Company. Jesse was an avid golfer and had a passion for all sports especially hockey. He dreamt of building an ice arena and that’s exactly what he did. After nearly a decade of ideas, planning and zoning, he built the Jackson Sports Arena. For many years, he operated the facility. He gave many an opportunity to skate indoors and focused on his passion to provide a place for the Jackson youth to spend time playing the sport he so loved. Jesse continued his professional journey and started his own small business focused on heating, cooling and electrical work until age 93. He enjoyed being around others and no one was ever a stranger to him. He touched the hearts and lives of many and will be greatly missed. A service to honor his life will be held at Chas. J.
