Jesus Andres Medina, 91, was born December 10, 1934, in Crystal City, Texas, and died September 6, 2026. Jesus passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning. A longtime resident of Jackson, Michigan, Jesus will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who were blessed to know him.
Jesus is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Angeline V Medina; children Nora (Gary) Castillo, Marcos Medina Sr., and Julia Jett; grandchildren the original 8 plus 3; and 14 great-grandchildren. Jesus is also survived by brother Jose Medina, and several nieces and nephews.
Throughout a life marked by steadfast devotion and quiet courage, Jesus gave of himself with constancy—at home, in friendship, in work, and in faith. He served in the national guard for 18 tours, and his loyalty to duty was matched by a selfless commitment to providing for his family. Known as a very hard-working man, Jesus once worked three jobs at one time. His work included serving as a doorman and valet for Bill Cones, and he was also a strong worker for Goodyear, Albion Iron works, and later retired from Teer-wickwire.
Jesus’s faith remained a guiding presence in his life. He was also one of the founders and of Comunidad de Sagrado Corazon, a reflection of the faithful dedication he carried into the lives of others.
Those closest to Jesus will especially remember the warmth of his presence and the humor that so often brightened ordinary moments. He enjoyed catching the morning cartoons like Tom and Jerry with his grandkids, bird watching for Cardinals (red birds), listening to Mexican music—especially mariachis—where he would yell out the loudest grito, playing cards with his long-time friends, playing the lotto, and watching sports, especially his favorite team Michigan State. His wisdom, his steady love, and the joy he brought to family life will be treasured always.
Jesus is now reunited with parents Argimiro and Felipa Medina; sister's Rosa Jacobs and Maria Lerma; and children Gina Medina and Jaime Medina. May he rest in peace, forever held in the hearts of those who loved him.
