Johnnie Lynn Jones born June 23, 1961 in Jackson Michigan to Joan Porter, went home to be with the Lord on September 13, 2025. From a young age Johnnie had a bright, outgoing and contagious personality. Johnnie friended many and met no strangers. Johnnie also was well known for being the sharpest dresser in the room.
In 1979 Johnnie graduated from Parkside High School and went on to pursue his education and graduated from Ferris State University. Johnnie received two associates degrees from Jackson College followed by a Bachelor’s degree from Siena Heights University and finished with his Masters degree from Concordia University. He always said he was doing it for his grandmother whom was unable to pursue an education for herself.
Johnnie also was a member of Men Of Merit at Jackson College and also a Freemason of Jackson Lodge No 17. He served proudly as Commander at Sauk Trail Post American Legion for several years.
Johnnie leaves to cherish his memories his Aunt Betty Joplin and four children LaDaren Belcher, Jua’Qan (Kristen) Williams, Meija Jones and Chavon Watts. Grandchildren A’Nyiah, Chandler, A’Lahni and Taelynn. His closest friends Carey Torrey (Chopper), Ricky Hurst, Rod Gardner and Ron Johnson. His special friend Margaret Hobbs and a host of friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Joan Porter and Grandmother Virginia Porter.
Though his time on earth was cut short, Johnnie loved the life he lived and lived the life he loved! Being the light of the party and always bringing a good time.
