Judith Marilyn King

Went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 10th 2019. She was born in Jackson, Michigan to Donald J. King Sr. and Marion Barber King on December 10, 1940. Judy graduated from Jackson High School in 1959. Preceded in death by her father, Donald J. King Sr. and her mother, Marion King, sister, Carol B. Gehring (Jim), brother, Donald J. King Jr. (Doris). She is survived by nephews, John C. Schultz (Sue) and Jeffrey S. King (Melinda), nieces, Susan D. Schultz and Staci A. Griffes (Steve). Many cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. Judy was employed at Michigan Bell and retired in 1990. She devoted her life to helping others by spreading the word of Jesus. Judy was the facilitator of the 12-step Serenity Program at New Covenant Living Church, assisted with the Women’s Jail Ministry, coordinated the golf outings, hosted Home Bible Fellowship and volunteered for any activities where she was needed. She had many hobbies which included golf, softball, bowling and loved her Detroit Tigers. She will be missed by special friends Kay Larson and Ann Blackwell. Judy had a special place in her heart for Pastors Jerry and Jody Cox, Associate Pastor Shel Marchewka and Lisa and her singing angels Dave and Beth Kesterson and Jack and Shiela Stanton and her furry companions Cha Ching I & II. Special thank you from Kay and Judy’s family to the Jacqueline House Assisted Living owners Phil and Pam Campau for the outstanding care they and their staff provided for Judy in the last twenty-six months and to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice for providing end of life care. Judy was a member of New Covenant Living Church 2405 W Washington Ave, Jackson, MI 49203, where a farewell celebration will be held on Sunday, September 29th at 12:30 PM The family will receive friends at the Church for visitation from 12 noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to New Covenant Living Missions, American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
