From the beginning, Kathy’s life was shaped by a steady and kind-hearted devotion to others. That compassionate spirit led her to earn her degree in Nursing, a path that would become far more than a profession as it would be the way she offered care, comfort, and dignity to her patients and the people around her.
Kathy worked in healthcare as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). And Nursing was her passion. Those who knew her understood that her work was never simply a job. In quiet, everyday ways that matter most, she made others feel seen and cared for. Her profession not only an enduring reflection of how deeply cherished she was, but of how generously she cherished others in return.
On June 30, 1984, Kathy married Ambers Samons Jr. Together for 42 years, they built a life rooted in love and loyalty—one held close by family and strengthened by that steady presence Kathy brought to those she loved. Kathy was beloved, not only for what she did, but for the gentle goodness she carried with her into every relationship.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, George H. Rinnert, and her brother, Henry E. Rinnert.
She is survived by her husband, Ambers Samons Jr.; her children, Anna M. Samons, Rachael A. Samons, and Alex K. Samons; her siblings, John O. Rinnert, Marilyn K. Hill, and Lisa Rawlins; and her grandchildren, Jordyn E. Chase, Christopher P. Chase, Lydia M. Chase, and Lily K. Chase.
Kathy will be remembered with deep affection. She was a compassionate nurse, a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a cherished presence in all the lives she touched in her many years of service. Her warmth and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
