Kay Marie Raymond

Our precious mother, Kay Marie (Coppernoll) Raymond, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Kay was born in Jackson, MI on May 22, 1938 (self-proclaimed “38-Special”) and claims to have learned everything she knew from the ‘School of Hard Knocks’. She devoted her life to her children, Tom and Jan (Newbill) Raymond from Stow, OH, Steve and Candy (Blakley) Raymond from Carlsbad, CA, Den and Michelle (Neely) Raymond from Jackson, MI, and Lisa (Raymond) Gurr from Michigan Center, MI. In addition to her own children, Kay opened her home and heart to countless other children whose working parents needed a dependable and caring babysitter. She was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Kathryn (Martin) Coppernoll, her loving husband of more than 44 years Jim, grand-children Baby Girl Raymond and Mark Thomas Raymond, and her sister Sandy (Coppernoll) Huff. In addition to her four children, Kay is survived by her brother Dean, sister Dianne (Coppernoll) Mulnix, eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She never wanted to be the center of attention, so Family and Friends wishing to honor Kay are invited to donate in her name to their favorite children's hospitals, childcare centers, and motherhood organizations. The family would also like to give a special “THANKS” to the Henry Ford Allegiance Home for providing care."
