Kenneth "Kenny" Robert Dinges Jr.

Of Jackson, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on July 16, 2026, at the age of 48. Kenny was born in Jackson, Michigan on July 20, 1977, to parents Kenneth Dinges and Karen Zimmerman.

A devoted family man with a thoughtful spirit and a kind heart, Kenny moved through life with steady care for the people he loved. He was also known for an easy humor—finding reasons to laugh at movies, goofy songs, and especially at the everyday moments shared with his kids.

Kenny worked as a mechanic, in construction, and at Allstar Rental. He was hard working, loved hands-on work, and could almost always be found working on a car—especially if it was Ford anything. His curiosity and love of learning showed in the way he enjoyed listening to music, reading books to learn about all different things, and writing. Above all, he loved spending time with his children and being a papa.

Kenny is survived by his children Rob Haske, Ethan May, Katelyn Artibee, Emily Dinges, Alyssa Dinges, Maria Dinges, Alexis Dinges, Vivvian Compton, Luka Dinges, and Freya Dinges; grandchildren Emilia Huston and Addison Sebastian; siblings Brian Pelham, Troy Pelham, Shelly Kinder, Cindy Zimmerman, and Kendra Dinges; nephew Gavin Zimmerman, who thought of Kenny as a father figure; cousin Gary Reasoner, whom he grew up with; and many, many more friends and family who he loved and who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Robert and Maybelle Dinges and mother Karen Zimmerman.

A celebration of Kenny’s life will be held on August 8, 2026 from 1:30–4:30 PM at Rod Mills Park (3300 W. Parnall Road, Jackson, Michigan). In lieu of flowers, please reach out to Emily Dinges to assist with the aftermath.
