

Of Jackson, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the age of 95. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie "May" Hickey and brother, Tom Hickey. He is survived by his wife, Julie (Robertson) Hickey; two nephews as well as a host of extended family members and friends. Mr. Hickey was born in Jackson on Valentine's day, February 14, 1921. He attended Jackson Public Schools, then proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII and was involved in both the European and Pacific Campaigns. He returned to Jackson in 1946 and in 1955 and established a typewriter sales and repair company known as Ideal Office Supply, located on South Mechanic Street. Mr. Hickey was a resident of Vista Grande for nearly ten years, where he was involved in many activities and made many good friends. He was an extremely active member of the Kiwanis Club of Jackson for nearly 50 years. He had a strong faith in the Lord and was a life-long parishioner of St. John's Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. James Shaver officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary service to beginning at 6:00 p.m., then again at the Church for one hour prior to the service. Mr. Hickey will be laid to rest at St. John's Catholic Cemetery with Military honors. Contributions in his memory may be made to The Kiwanis Club of Jackson or to St. John's Catholic Church.
