Kenneth Martin Jackson

Kenneth Martin Jackson “Ken”, age 66 of Jackson, MI, died August 22, 2026. He was born February 21, 1960, in Detroit, MI, the son of Troy Martin and Betty Jean (Carter) Jackson, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Clayburn Ashby Jackson, and his sister, Nora Mae Virginia Shaw.

After graduating high school, Ken entered the U.S. Navy in 1978 and was honorably discharged in 1982. His life reflected steady dedication and a strong work ethic, shown through years of service to others and to his community. He worked for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and served as a school bus driver for Jackson Schools for many years, retiring in 2025.

Ken’s faith was a guiding presence throughout his life. He attended Loomis Baptist Church and served as a deacon, offering his time and commitment with quiet constancy and sincere devotion.

Outside of work and church, Ken found joy in the outdoors. An avid fisherman and outdoorsman, he also loved boating and kayaking—simple pleasures that suited his appreciative spirit and enduring love of nature.

Ken is survived by his brother, Keith Jackson; and his sister, Kathy Jackson Smith, and her husband, Ershell Wayne Smith and many extended family and friends.

Graveside services to celebrate Ken’s life will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 1PM at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 W. Dickman Rd., Augusta, MI with Full Military Honors.
