

Of Jackson, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 98, on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Lucille Van Epps; son, Dale Van Epps; daughter, Pat Russ; sons in-law, Terry Bevier and Paul Matlow Jr.; daughter in-law, Pat Van Epps. He is survived by his son, Bob Van Epps; daughters, Donna (Harold) Dangler, Nancy Matlow and Linda Bevier; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; thirty-five great-great grandchildren; son in-law, Jack Russ; daughter in-law, Barb Van Epps as well as nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Ken was born in Jackson on December 23, 1915 to Garfield and Mary Van Epps. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and when he returned to Jackson he worked at Walker Mfg. alongside his son. After eighteen years he left Walker to continue the father son work force that continued for over fifty years at Van’s Standard/Service. He enjoyed life to the fullest, was a hardworking, loving family man; adored his children and the times they spent together. He was a bowler and shared many memories with his family and friends on various leagues over time. A service celebrating his life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 10:00AM. with his grandson, Mr. Scott Van Epps officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 9:00AM until the time of service. Mr. Van Epps will be laid to rest at Roseland Memorial Gardens with Military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Allegiance Hospice.
