Kenneth J Zacharias

Of Jackson, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2011 at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and daughter, Valarie, as well as his mother, Katherine Murine; two sisters and one brother. He will be remembered by his seven daughters and three sons, Katherine (Bobby) Scott, Patricia (Jeff) Ives, Christine (Roger) Kellogg, Kenneth Murine, Marcel (Ronnie) Davis, David (Joan) Murine, Anthony Zacharias, Tamara Zacharias, Melissa Cowan and Carol (Tom) Meeker; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Kenneth was born in Ohio and came to Michigan as a child. After graduating high school he served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from the City of Jackson D.P.W. He was a member of St Joseph Parish as well as a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed Tiger baseball and was an avid fisherman. A service honoring his life is scheduled at the funeral home on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jim Shaver officiating along with military honors. Family will receive friends from 10:00 until the time of service.
