Leroy Grant Wittman

Of Grass Lake, MI went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2014 at the age of 94 with his loving family by his side. Leroy was born on September 20, 1919 to Clarence and Alma Wittman in Petersburg, MI. He proudly serviced his country in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and attended Michigan State University where he received multiple degrees. Leroy worked for many years for the Michigan State Highway Department. He was a member of Grace Church, loved doing crossword puzzles, spending time with his grandkids, and was an avid outdoorsman. Leroy is survived by his children: Kristine (Gordy) Runyon, Kit (Vanesia) Wittman, Kim (Neva) Wittman, Kip (Morgan) Clairday, Kam (Cecil) Croft, Kory Wittman, Kelly Wittman, and Kally (Jacob) Shanks; 24 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, LaDonna; and grandson, C. J. Croft II. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with visitation Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 5:00-8:00pm. Leroy will be laid to rest next to his wife at Roseland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grace Church.
