

Lois Patricia (Bergholt) Peterson passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025 in Jackson, MI. She was 88 years old. Lois was born on October 4, 1936 in Loves Park, IL. She married her high school sweetheart, Bob, in 1955 and they relocated to Jackson where she worked as a volunteer for many community programs over the years including League of Women Voters, Jackson Newcomers Club, The Literacy Council, Artrain, the Girl Scouts of America and the American Cancer Society. Lois was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jackson, where she was a Sunday school teacher and frequent volunteer. When Lois and Bob became owners of Brandywine Pub & Food in 1980, she worked alongside her husband for more than two decades, but her favorite job of all was being a Mom. Lois is survived by three children, Janet (Scott) Andrew, Donald Peterson and Patricia (Terry) Traves, granddaughter Elizabeth Traves, sister-in-law Frances (Paul) Stouvenin, nephew Taylor (Joyce Ford) Hoffman and dear cousin, Richard Johnson. Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Robert A. (Bob) Peterson and infant son James Wallace Peterson. Lois’s family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Jackson County Medical Care Facility for their wonderful care and kindness. At Lois’s request, no funeral service will be held at this time. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, remembrance donations may be sent to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1505 W. Michigan Ave, Jackson, MI 49202 or to a charitable organization of your choice. Interment will be private at the Scandinavian Cemetery in Rockford, IL.
