Loriain Arnold-Banks, known as Loral or Aunt Lila was born on September 28, 1946, in Henderson, Tennessee. A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all, departed this life on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at home surrounded by family. Lila was married to the late Embra Banks Jr. for 56 years.
You could always expect Lila to greet you with a warm and welcoming smile. She will be remembered most as a compassionate caregiver of many over six generations. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, and had a special talent for Ironing, which was something she learned to do well as her first part-time job growing up. Lila was a very vibrant and witty woman with an elegant personality who loved to lift other people's spirits. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and spend quality time with her family.
Lila was preceded in death by her husband, Embra Banks Jr.; daughter, Linda Banks; mother, Raymell Smith; Sister, Shelia Marie Vandyke; brother, Clarence Valentino Brown; and grandparents, John and Mattie Arnold. She leaves to cherish her memory son, Embra Banks and his children, Taijah, Tashay, and Tahj Valentino Swanson and grandchild, Tonya Swanson; daughter, Rita (Craig Johnson) Arnold and her son, Marshon (Nadine Breton) Arnold, and his two children, Domnique and Jocelynn Arnold; and Sister, Patricia Brown.
A Home Going Service will be held at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Avenue, Jackson, MI 49202) on Friday, September 30, 2022 with family hour starting at 11:00 am followed by the service at 12:00 Noon. She will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery.
