

Went home to be with the Lord, on Thursday, October 9, 2014, while at his home in the care of his loving family and Great Lakes Caring Hospice, at the blessed age of 100. Mr. Guinn leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 35 years, Ernestine; daughter, Lucille (Herman) Nunn; sons, Michael Guinn and Emanuel Thomas; step-daughters, Labrena Black and Tammy Allen; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Mattie Guinn, Helen Williams and Henrietta Sneed; two brothers-in-law, Malcom (Sharon) Lewis and William (Sonja) Lewis; dedicated granddaughter, Jahanna Ernestine Wilbon; special friends, Johnnie (Bonnie) Wilbon. He was born on August 29, 1914 in Arkansas to Richard and Hazel Guinn. After graduating High School he proudly served in The United States Army during WWII and is a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber in 1979 after 33 years of loyal service. A Home Going Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Johnnie Wilbon officiating. Family time at 10:30AM until the time of service. Mr. Guinn will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Fort Custer National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 11:00AM. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Great Lakes Caring Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
